The Rowdy Growler

Chronicles of a novice beer enthusiast.

  • Ahh… Spring is in the air in NYC, and that means the opening of outdoor beer gardens once again. Everyone rejoyce!

Or at least that’s what a few coworkers and myself did recently. We checked out a relatively new beer garden on the Lower East Side called “Bia Garden” - Yes, that’s spelled correctly - a vietnamese beer garden selling only asian beers and pan-asian snack food.

Beers come by the bucket at Bia, and you have to order at least 6 at a time… but don’t worry, they won’t charge you for the ones you don’t drink. We decided on 33 (from Vietnam), a refreshing lager with a suprising smooth taste. Would definitely order it again… along with those DELICIOUS (but spicy!) BBQ pork spring rolls. Also, check out the chicken lollipops.

    Viva spring!
